YELLOWTOP MOUNTAIN PROPERTY OWNERS ASSOCIATION
The tenth annual meeting of the Property Owners Association will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Sunshine Elementary School. The school is located at 231 Toney Rd., Sunshine, NC, ½ mile south of our entrance.
NOTE: If you have any questions that you want addressed at the meeting, let us know by September 26, 2015, so time can be allotted.

NOTE: In order to vote in person or by proxy, you must be a member of the Association and be current with your dues. The following candidates have expressed interest in the board, have agreed to serve, and are qualified to be nominated for the Board of Directors.
Nominees for two year terms (please vote for four).
Lysa Atkinson_______ As a member of the Board of Directors for the post 4 years, it would be an honor to continue making improvements and decisions for our POA and beautiful community. I built here 10 years ago and moved here permanently from the Gulf Coast of Florida in 2008 with my 2 daughters. I work full time as a sales representative for Proctor & Gamble. A favorite for me is watching my daughter (and her team) play softball at Pfeiffer University. I also take advantage of the serene surroundings I come home to each day on Yellowtop Mountain.
Barbara Chauvigne______Yellowtop property owner since 2003. Home built in Spring of 2005. Married to Philippe Chauvigne. Two adult children. Graduated Guilford College. Master’s Degree from UNCG. National Board Certified in Science. Taught for 34 years in North Carolina, serving on a multitude of committees. Currently teaching the academically gifted in Danville VA. Generally are at the cabin every other weekend, unless life interferes.
Chuck Conkling_____I am a permanent resident of Yellowtop and consider this my home. I have served on the POA board for the past four years. I have been the Treasurer for those four years. I retired from the NC Dept of Crime Control. I served on the NC State Employees Credit Union Board for the Cary branch for 12 years and served as the State Director for the National Institute of Ethics.
Bob Gray______My wife, Chris, and I have owned our home on Yellowtop since 2005, and just recently became full time residents of North Carolina, after retiring at the end of January of this year from our positions in Ohio. We split our time between Yellowtop, and our condo at Sunset Beach. Prior to retiring, I was employed by ABX Air/ Airborne Express for 35 years. I concluded my career as Vice President of Flight Operations, and prior to that, Vice President of Government Affairs. I hold a Bachelor Degree from Miami University (Ohio) and an MBA from the University of Dayton.
Jack Hoppenstedt_______ Retired Florida Hwy Patrol. Full-time resident on Yellowtop. Yellowtop POA President 2 years (2006-2008). Retired Yellowtop Manager 7 years (2008-2015).
Pamela Mengel ______Currently serving on the Yellowtop Board of Directors. Optician 35 years. Owner 20 years NY Sports Center with $10 million revenue. School volunteer 18 years. VP/Treas. County Council 7 years. PTA President 10 years / fundraising $250,000. BA Criminal Justice.
Tom Stino_____Full-time Yellowtop resident since 2013. Employed by the State of Connecticut for 25 years, retiring as Director of Payroll, Personnel and Retirement computer systems, both hardware and software. Served the town of Glastonbury, Connecticut on the Volunteer Fire Dept. and 12 years on the town planning and zoning commission. US Army helicopter crew chief flying more than 1300 combat hours in Vietnam and awarded more than 40 Air Medals, at least 3 for Valorous Heroism during combat operations against hostile forces. Master’s Degree in Computer Science from The Hartford Graduate Center. My wife, Chandra, and I enjoy the community, love living on the mountain, and look forward to serving all of you.
The next POA Board meeting will be held November 14 at 9:00 AM at Mike Crombie's home.
Any adult property owner is invited to attend the Board meetings. Please do not bring your children to a Board Meeting, as they are held at private residence. If you plan to attend, call a board member a week in advance so we can make arrangements.
